ERC Headquarters and Multifunctional Complex: An Integrated Urban Development in the Heart of Addis Ababa

The proposed HQ and adjacent developments of the multi-purposed complex are intended to be developed in the current ERC head office compound. The compound is located in the centre of the city, Addis Ababa in Kirkos sub-city, Meshualekiya area. The site is 8 kilometre from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (AABIA) and in less than a kilometre distance from the town centre square, Meskel Square. The full project site of the development is within the ERC owned compound, demanding no new land acquisition. The project site has  total of 71,843 m2 area.

The ERC Headquarters Building Multifunctional Complex Development Project primarily consists its 35 story building HQ, which provides a well established office facility to the corporation and opens commercial spaces in the lower floors. The project, moreover, envisions other components within. A twin building is the second component of the project, purposed for a hotel service and rises up to 21 stories.

On the northern part of the compound, a commercial space is provided in the design consisting 5 buildings with three and four stories. The other major part of the complex will be a real estate establishment, which has 11 number of large building structures with 24 stories each; and it takes 50% to 55% of the compound.

Moreover, the complex will offer an access road across the site, which also connects Meshualekiya Roundabout to Cherkos area that further goes to La-Gare road. The facility also incorporates a leisure area and well developed landscape for greenery area.
