COIPA Italia, Ventura Group, and Avangarde will jointly invest—together with Ethiopian Railway Corporation (ERC), Ethiopia’s state-owned railway operator—in a special purpose vehicle to support the restructuring and modernization of ERC’s maintenance workshop for locomotives, rolling stock, and the full spectrum of railway infrastructure, including track systems, signalling, and overhead electrification lines.
The initiative also aims to significantly expand the current maintenance capacity, positioning the workshop as the primary hub for rolling stock maintenance in Central and Eastern Africa.
