COIPA Energy (COIPA Group) and the Ministry of Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania signed, on May 27th in Nouakchott, a Memorandum of Understanding concerning the development, financing, construction, and operation of a green ammonia production plant in the country.
This marks the first project in Mauritania to reach such an advanced stage, signaling the beginning of activities under the newly enacted legislation aimed at regulating hydrogen and related sectors, while promoting foreign investment in this strategic industry.
The ammonia produced by the plant will be exported for use in hydrocracking facilities and in the production of green hydrogen in Italy and across Europe.
